My opinions on the mater are pretty much the same as yours -- an art major puts you on a mostly permanent low-income scale and forces you into an overly-competitive, not very lucrative job market. And actually, young failed art majors work at Starbucks. Everyone else get's stuck being an art teacher. That was another factor that deterred me from majoring in art. XD
