FE6 English Patch

I was wondering if the FE6 English translation project is officially a closed case. I'm currently using what I believe to be the most updated version of the patch, and while I'm immensely appreciative that there's any patch at all, I see a lot of areas that could use some improvement. In particular, I feel like a lot of the characters are bone-dry, or they suddenly speak in such a way that isn't really appropriate for the time period and/or setting. (Like, one minute Roy will sound like an upstanding noble, and then three lines later he sounds like he's about to bro-fist the next person who comes on screen.) There are also some grammatical mistakes, which is expected, but they should probably be fixed. Also, "lout" and "Well met!" are not used enough. XD

tl;dr: Who do I talk to about helping out with an updated translation, and would they be offended/disinterested if I brought it up?

Wasn't it TheEnd who was doing the FE6. It's been so long that I have no idea.

Pretty sure it was originally Eaichu and Tiltyu. I remember helping out during my Otosareta Tenshi days on FESS. Then I got rebanned. :P

I traced it back to Eaichu as the editor, and I know you helped with the hacking, but outside of that I really can't recall who took the lead. XD

Hail fellow, well met!

Yes. This. Always. XD

It was a combination of Dark Twilkitri, FireLizard, PrinceLeaf, and Eaichu from what I remember. I think CO Raptor chipped in with the Fire Emblem logo, and a few others may have helped here and there. At any rate, all of them seem to have dropped off the internet for the most part. I distinctly remember FireLizard saying his translation of FE6's script was not his best work...

Ah, that's a problem then. D: I was hoping that if nothing else, I would just need to contact all of them for their approval, but now it looks like I'll have to hunt them down as well! I would feel bad if I just started making edits without asking. (Plus, I don't know much about the process so I might have a few questions.) Do you think this could gain support on SF?

A few of them shouldn't be too difficult to find. I see Eaichu on Facebook fairly often. Twilkitri has an account on Serenes. He hasn't been active in forever, but I guess there's always a chance he might show up if someone sends him a PM...

As for whether or not this could gains support on Serenes... That's a bit of a tough question. I've seen little to no interest in the FE4 or FE6 patches over the years even though both are still technically incomplete. I guess it couldn't hurt to ask, but I'm not sure what sort of response you'll get. There isn't anything I can do to help since the little bit I know about romhacking will be of no use.
