I really need to finish up some of the stuff I've been working on as of late; a lot of my more recent uploads aren't as polished as they should have been and it annoys me. D:
They have a lot of policies to ensure that the system is fair. The gallery mods have been hand selected for being extremely knowledgeable about the type of art they'll be selecting. Also, obviously, whatever is being suggested must be on par with quality standards--it needs to deserve a spot. They almost never pick mediocre work. People who get picked must have a perfect record--no incidents, suspensions, etc--and each member can only get one DD for each three month period. I think that after you get three DDs total, you aren't eligible to get any more, or can only do so under extraordinary circumstances.
