FESSers, assemble...! XD

I have some general series questions about Fire Emblem that I'm hoping you guys can help me out with. :3 I'd like to do a cool portrait series for Fire Emblem in which I draw the main character(s) from each game. Not the whole main cast, but "the lords." (Roy from FE6, Ike from FE 9/10, etc.) The problem is, I'm not very well-versed in the early days of the series, so I don't exactly know who I should focus on from each game. Specially, I'm not sure who I would identify as the main cast from FE4 or FE5. I think I have totally wrong information about both games. ;___; Would the "lord" characters technically be Sigurd and Celice? I always thought that Cuan and Leaf played a pretty important role, but I've never played either game, so I'm not entirely sure. (Can I reasonable work them into a project like this for the sake of adding more redheads? I want to have a Red v. Blue theme.) XD I'm also baffled by FE2. I see three fairly prominently placed characters on the box art, but according to Wikipedia, Alm and Celica are the central focus. And then I guess there's the issue of having multiple main characters. Do you guys think Eliwood edges out Hector and Lyn slightly? Is Lilina comparable to Roy or is she just supporting-cast material? I don't really know how far I should push it.

Anyways, what do you guys think? :0

FE1: Marth, obviousy.
FE2: Alm and Celica are the main characters. You switch between them for the first couple chapters, and then after that they move independently on the world map with their own parties. (For the record, I always give Alm teal hair, as per his box art.)
FE3: Marth. Again! Just older.
FE4: Sigurd for the first generation, Celice for the second generation (after Sigurd kicks the bucket).
FE5: Leaf.
FE6: Roy, definitely. Lilina is to Roy as Caeda is to Marth.
FE7: Lyn, Eliwood, and Hector, depending on the story you're playing.
FE8: Eirika and Ephraim, depending on which route you took.
FE9: Ike.
FE10: This is the trickiest out of all of them, since the game is all over the place. Ike and Micaiah for sure. I would not include the side-mains from later chapters (Elincia, Sanaki, etc.)
FE11: N/A
FE12: N/A
FE13: Krom, presumably.

Thanks for your help! Regarding FE10, is Micaiah legitimately important, as in, similar to Lyn and Eirika, or is she more like a Ninian character?

She's legitimately important, and takes on the Lord-equivalent role for the first segment of the game.

Micaiah is legitimately important. She's similar to Lyn in that the first quarter of the game centers around her and her group. Sothe also features prominently in this section. Part 2 centers around Queen Elincia's struggles, but is only five chapters long and honestly, in the grand scheme of things, isn't that important in my opinion. Part 3 switches to Ike, who now has the physical appearance of a human tank, with just a handful of chapters jumping back to Micaiah and her party from time to time. Part 4 mixes things up by having the player divide up all the forces into three groups. Group A is led by Miciah and Sanaki, and to a lesser extent Sothe; group B is led by Ike; group C is led by Tibarn, who is accompanied by Elincia.

Oh! Thanks for your help. I definitely have a better grasp on the situation now. :3 I think I'll just focus on Ike and Micaiah for the sake of simplicity. If I have to draw 4+ FE9/10 characters, I'm going to loose my steam... and patience. XD

Gaiden's boxart is something of an oddity. For one, it portrays Alm with green hair, and the guy in yellow does not seem to appear in the game. As for Cuan and Leaf, the latter should definitely be included since he's the main character of Thracia 776. Including Cuan wouldn't be too unreasonable since he plays a very important role in FE4's first generation.

I'll have to look for other pictures of Alm! I guess his hair is up for debate. :3 And thanks for clarification on Cuan. Because of the generational thing between FE4 and FE5, I always assumed that you had Sigurd and Cuan, and then Celice and Leaf. It seemed like a clean, neat way to pass on the torch between characters. XD

You have Sigurd, Cuan, Celice, and Leaf all in Genealogy of the Holy War. Thracia 776 is sort of an inbetween-quel explaining Leaf's battles before joining up with Celice. I'd argue that Cuan really isn't all that more important in Genealogy than any of the other characters, but it's really up to you.
